A whole ass mood, Sadbastards and Softbois is a collection of soft instrumentals, strange cover songs, and a few original tunes. We have ambient soundscapes, pop arrangements of folk songs I wrote a lifetime ago, and even a moombahton cover of an Iron and Wine tune.

When I hear the term concept album thrown about, my immediate assumption is "this is going to be unlistenable." But there is a theme, or concept if you will, about this record and I guess for lack of a better term, you could call this a concept album.

My hope is that it's all listenable. To some extent, I wanted a lot of these tracks to be almost innocuous. Background music might sound like an insult but I like to think of it more as a soundtrack that evokes your subconscious. Let it paint a backdrop for sleepytimes or a walk home at night under a clear sky.

Or maybe just put on some black lights and get stoned to the bone. Your call. Hope you enjoy.
